BSc (Hons), MCSP, cert.MDT, MMIMDTP, certified Mummy MOT® Practitioner
Laura graduated from Kings College London with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2004 and began working in a large London NHS teaching Hospital. Over the course of her career she has worked closely with a number of nationally recognised consultant orthopaedic surgeons and specialist women’s health physiotherapists. In addition to her hospital work, she worked within the English Football League at varying levels for 9 years, including 2 years at Crystal Palace FC. From 2010 to 2017 Laura was working as Head of Women’s Health Physiotherapy and Clinical Pilates at a large polyclinic in Dubai. She returned to the UK and established herself in private practice.
Having trained with the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute, she has gained expertise in the clinical application of Pilates, providing individualised, symptom-specific patient programmes. Laura believes that Clinical Pilates can benefit every patient, resulting in a stronger core and better posture thus helping in injury prevention and pain management. Accordingly, she has set up LB Physiotherapy & Clinical Pilates (www.lbphysio.org).
Laura has a special interest in Women’s Health Physiotherapy. She is clinically trained to provide specialised assessment, effective advice and treatment to a population that is often neglected. Her areas of expertise are pelvic floor rehabilitation in the management of incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse and the treatment of pelvic girdle dysfunction in the pregnant population.
Since April 2019 Laura has been a Mummy MOT® practitioner.
The Mummy MOT® is a specialist postnatal examination for women following both vaginal and caesarean deliveries. Laura will assess how your posture, pelvic floor muscles and stomach muscles are recovering after birth. Laura will then provide you with exercises and treatment to help in your recovery and return to safe exercise.
